I love the week leading up to Christmas — especially when we’re hosting….

Mid-December brings one of my greatest holidays joys — pulling out some of my very favorite vintage holiday pieces from the attic and finding places for them throughout my home.
One of my favorite things about the holidays is baking up a storm and treating my friends to the recipes that only get made once a year….
When I hear stories like the tragedy that unfolded in the middle of a Christmas party in San Bernadino last week, my first instinct is to crawl in a corner and cry. So much loss. Such violence.
I just can’t wrap my mind around it….
Chances are if you ask almost any woman what she thinks about cookie swaps, you’ll either hear gleeful enthusiasm or receive a blank stare.
Cookie swaps are just one of those polarizing things and like most politics these days, you aren’t going to get very far trying to persuade non-like minded pals to come over to your side of the fence….
