Okay, anyone who really knows me will recognize the improbability and even absurdity of this kind of regime I’ve chosen to follow for a couple weeks….
It’s a new year and with it the chance for a clean slate after the overindulgence and willy-nilly eating over the holidays. Will my attempts at cleaner, more conscious eating mean I break up some bad patterns or will it all end up in a Fritos and Zinfandel blowout on the couch?
It seems like we’ve been opening up our house to large groups more often of late — and with that comes the expectation of making food, too….

This past week started off a little wonky….
Take days on end of frigid, icy rain. Add in one tumultuous week of political news. Mix in liberal amounts of stress from finals weeks for the kids. Lastly, add one dog who’s limping around and a husband on big-time deadlines.
What does this add up to?…
